“The average person takes six or seven attempts in their lifetime before they are ever successful in stopping,” Dr, Jim May said.
“The concept is to make addiction treatment more accessible, more mainstream,” Thompson said.
Because the risk of opioid addiction is so high, doctors and patients are searching for pill-free pain relief options.
Many end up falling off of the wagon while waiting to get treatment.
“The widespread opioid abuse and addiction is partly the consequence of that campaign,” Dr. James Thompson said.
