Arachnophilia: Poor shooting dooms Spiders in loss to Bucknell

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Despite another strong effort for senior forward T.J. Cline, Richmond’s men’s basketball team fell 73-68 at home vs. Bucknell Wednesday night.

Cline, who on Monday was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, finished the game with a team-high 22 points on an efficient 10-17 from the floor to go along with five rebounds and a couple of assists.

As a team, however, the Spiders shot just 10-19 (52.6%) from the free-throw line and struggled from distance as well, knocking down just 4 of 19 attempts from beyond the arc.

Sophomore guard Khwan Fore also played well for Richmond, compiling 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. ShawnDre’ Jones added 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists for the Spiders, who never led during the second half despite rallying to tie the game after trailing 36-30 at the half.

Richmond (4-3) will return to the floor on Saturday when the Spiders play host to Wake Forest at 12 p.m. at the Robins Center.
