Meteorologist Raquel Nicora joined the WRIC-TV Weather Team in November 2016. Before joining our team, Raquel was the Weekend Meteorologist at WHAG in Hagerstown, MD.
She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
As a Florida native, Raquel became interested in meteorology after experiencing multiple hurricanes during her childhood. Throughout her college years, she was very involved with the weather community.
Raquel first worked with the State Emergency Response Team of Florida’s Department of Emergency Management in Tallahassee. She also worked at the National Weather Service in Miami, Florida.
Raquel developed a passion for broadcast meteorology after interning at WFOR in Miami, FL and further pursued her interest at WTXL in Tallahassee, FL.
While at Florida State, Raquel regularly forecasted for the 4FSU Weather Show and became a Team Leader during her senior year.
Raquel spends most of her downtime running, traveling, and staying active.
