Richmond man will serve 18 years in connection with 2016 murder

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond man was sentenced Thursday in connection with a murder that happened in July 2016.

Shawn L. Richardson, 23, of Richmond had his 1st-degree-murder charge amended to a 2nd-degree-murder and he was sentenced to 40 years in prison with 22 years suspended.

He has other charges listed, but they were not scheduled for sentencing yet.
