Governor hopes to get Amazon to Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Governor McAuliffe says he will submit three to five proposals to get a second Amazon headquarters to Virginia.

He thinks Virginia Beach has the best chance at getting the supercenter because of its port and its appeal to millennials.

Richmond, Norfolk, Fairfax County and Loudon County could also be submitted.

He has a consultant preparing bids for Virginia Beach and Richmond. He says he wouldn’t have paid for the consultant if he didn’t think it would be worth the money.

Amazon recently announced they are looking for a place to build their second headquarters. The center could create up to 50,000 jobs.
