RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — 8News is taking the lead with the American Cancer Society, and we’re raising money for cancer research in a unique way.

The Cattle Baron’s Ball, sponsored by Haley Automotive Group, is returning to the Richmond area. It’s a night of fun, food and boot scootin’.

The western gala is held in more than 50 cities across the country, including right here in Central Virginia at Keystone Acres in Chesterfield County. Brand your calendars for October 28 for this cowboy chic affair that will feature a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions and rip-roaring entertainment.

This year’s headliner is country music star Tyler Hammond. Opening the evening will be high-energy Richmond-based band Main Street Station.

The Cattle Baron’s Ball originated in Dallas, Texas more than 35 years ago and is now the American Cancer Society’s signature western event with more than 50 Cattle Baron’s events nationwide.

Cattle Baron’s Ball is where cowboys and cowgirls come together for an evening of golf o’ western fun! Today, we ask you to help us continue to give the gift of another birthday through your participation in the inaugural 2017 Richmond Cattle Baron’s Ball.

So put on your blue jeans and your favorite boots and join us for an exciting evening of entertainment and enlightenment.
