RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — About 1.6 million chests of drawers are being recalled because they are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall.
This poses a tip-over and entrapment hazard that could result in deaths or injuries to children.
There has been one injury reported after a chest of drawers tipped onto a four-year-old.
The Mainstays four-drawer chests were sold at Walmart stores and other retailers across the country from April 2009 to May 2016 for about $60.
If you have one of these dressers, stop using it and put it in an area that children cannot access. Then, contact Ameriwood for a free repair kit to anchor the chest to the wall.
