RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Love on Tap, a collaboration between local breweries for Pride Month, celebrated marriage equality and the LGBTQ community in Richmond.

10 percent of all proceeds from the 2nd Annual Love on Tap event go to Virginia Pride, a local non-profit that provides resources to the gay community.

“Today we are celebrating just love is love, and the fact that everyone can get married,” Vice President of Virginia Pride Stephanie Brown said. “It’s just equality overall and that’s what we’re celebrating … simply equality.”

This year Hardywood collaborated with Ashland’s Center of the Univers Brewing and Ardent Craft Ales to create a special beer called Tropic Like It’s Hot.

The beer features a blend of passion fruit, pineapple, and lime.
