RPD: Victim identified and arrest made in Saturday night homicide

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police have identified the victim who died in Saturday night’s homicide and announced that they have arrested a suspect.

Police say that Wayne D. Spencer, 53, of the 2000 block of Powell Road was found suffering from a shooting injury sometime after 8:40 p.m.and was taken to the hospital. He later died of his injuries.

Alfred V. Booker, 60, who lives in the same block and knew the victim, was arrested at the scene of the crime and has been charged with murder.

Police said that they are investigating the incident and trying to determine what happened. A medical examiner will determine the exact cause and manner of death.
