Fireworks to blame for house fire in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Fire officials say fireworks are to blame for a house fire that happened Tuesday evening in Chesterfield County.

The fire happened on Port Elissa Landing around 10 p.m.

According to fire officials, someone put used fireworks in a trash can next to the home. Those fireworks then caught items in the trash can on fire.

No one was hurt in the fire but the damage to the home was extensive, fire officials say.

The residents of the home are displaced.
