Suspects sought after barn destroyed by fire in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities in Chesterfield County are looking for three suspects who they believe fled the scene of a barn fire in Chesterfield County Tuesday afternoon.

Crews were called to reports of a brush fire in the 7600 block of Applewhite Lane at roughly 5:20 p.m. When they arrived, they also found a vehicle and a barn on fire.

Officials tell 8News that since the brush fire was located off the main road, brush trucks were needed to access the scene. It took crews roughly an hour to mark the incident under control.

The three-story barn was destroyed and the vehicle also suffered significant damage.

The brush fire burned roughly 1 acre of land, officials say.

Officials did not provide a description of the suspects. They believe the vehicle that was on fire belongs to one of them.
