Buskey Cider celebrates Independence Day with ‘Cider-bration’

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond residents took part Sunday in the Red, White and Blue “Cider-bration” at Buskey Cider in Scott’s Addition.

Participants had patriotic-colored flights, plus free hot dogs.

The celebration goes on until the day after the Fourth of July.

Buskey’s owner said that it’s just a good old fashioned way to celebrate the summer.

“It’s a word Ben Franklin recorded in the taverns back in the day which is referenced to the colonial history of cider,” William Correll said. “It was the most popular beverage during colonial times which is kind of cool for Fourth of July, that a lot of the founding fathers made cider and that it was the beverage we were drinking as Americans then.”

This Independence Day you can watch the fireworks at the Diamond from their building while enjoying a cider.
