RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — One of the most anticipated movies of the year, for the kids anyway, is hitting theaters today along with a few others for the adults.
“Despicable Me 3” finds Gru, the reformed evil genius, being booted from the anti-villain league when he can’t bring an evil mastermind to justice. The Minions are hoping Gru might return to a life of crime but the discovery of a new family member throws all the plans out of whack. The animated adventure is rated PG.
“Baby Driver” stars Ansel Elgort as a getaway driver who lives by his own rules. But after taking a job for a crime boss, played by Kevin Spacey, he finds himself risking it all when the heist goes south. The thriller costars Jamie Foxx and Jom Hamm. It’s rated R.
“The House” has Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell playing parents who open an illegal casino in their house to try and raise money to send their kid to college. When the MMA fighters, exotic dancers, and high rollers start showing up, they realize they may have bitten off more than they can chew. The comedy is rated R
“The Beguiled” takes viewers inside an exclusive school for girls in the south during the civil war. They take in an injured Union soldier and that changes the dynamic inside the school. The thriller stars Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst and Colin Farrell…it’s rated R.
