PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A well-known fun spot in Petersburg is making a comeback just in time for summer.
The old Go-Kart Village officially reopened about three weeks ago, doing business as Go-Kart Enterprises.
Owner Bill Sizemore wants to expand the three-acre property, offering miniature golf, batting cages, and fishing.
He says he reopened the spot to create a space to make a difference in the lives of area youth.
“This is something that we can do here that will give some positivity to the community,” Sizemore said.
He’s considering offering time at Go-Kart Enterprises to children, particularly ones at-risk, who get good grades and in an effort to make a difference in the community.
RaShaun Thomas a Petersburg native, said a place like Go-Kart Enterprises is important to keep children out of trouble.
“I want to be there for the community to help these kids get off the corner,” he said.
The owner is looking at changing the name in the coming months.
