Fredericksburg Police identify fatal shooting victim

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Fredericksburg Police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning.

Police said that Alon Alvin Clipper, 23, of King George County, was shot sometime shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday in the Greenbrier Shopping Center parking lot in the 2000 block of Plank Road.

When officers responded, they found shell casings in the parking lot, but no suspects or victims at the scene.

Detectives were called and responded to investigate the incident.

At 2:06 a.m., police received a call about Clipper showing up at the Mary Washington Hospital emergency room with gunshot wounds.

He succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

Police have not named a suspect or given a description of any persons of interest at this time.

The investigation is ongoing. The Fredericksburg Police Department asks that anyone with information about the incident call the police immediately at 540-373-3122.
