Popular Carytown taco restaurant closed after fire; 2 displaced

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond fire officials were called to put out a fire early Saturday at Don’t Look Back, a popular Mexican restaurant in Carytown.

Crews received a call about a fire at the Taqueria located at 2929 West Cary Street at 5:46 a.m. and arrived at the scene shortly thereafter.

When they arrived, they found fire in the rear of the building but said that the fire was present on both the first and second floors.

Fire officials said that the fire was marked under control by 6:27 a.m.

The Red Cross was also notified to assist a man and a woman who lived in the building.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The extent of the damage is not known, but the restaurant is currently closed, and this sign is on the front door:
