13-year-old injured in hit and run in Richmond’s north side

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police say that a 13-year-old boy was injured Saturday evening in a hit and run accident in the city’s north side.

The incident happened around 5:40 p.m. in the 2500 block of 3rd Avenue, near the intersection with Myrtle Street.

Police said that a blue van of unknown make or model hit the boy while traveling north on 3rd Avenue toward Magnolia Street.

Fortunately, police said that the boy only experienced “minor bumps and bruises,” and while he was taken to the hospital, he is expected to recover.
