Police: Woman’s armed robbery report unfounded

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police have determined that a reported armed robbery near Virginia Commonwealth University’s campus is unfounded and do not believe that any crime occurred.

According to police, the victim claimed was walking northbound on Lombardy Street at 1:20 a.m. when she was approached by a man who grabbed her hair, pulled her into the alley behind 1600 Monument Avenue, placed a knife in her side and stated, “give me everything you got.”

The victim reported that the man then reached into her bag, removed approximately $260 cash and fled westbound in the alley.
