VSP seeking info regarding two recent hit-and-runs on I-95

(WRIC) — Virginia State Police is looking for information regarding two hit-and-run incidents on Interstate 95.

The first occurred on Sunday, June 25 at approximately 6 p.m., on I-95 northbound in Colonial Heights. Two vehicles were racing a white and blue car. The blue care is believed to have possibly been a Mazda. It struck a Buick Encore, which struck the white car that had been racing, and then hit the barrier wall.

Two people in the Buick were transported with non-life-threatening injuries. The white car stayed at the scene and the driver was charged, but the blue car continued on northbound.

The second occurred on Monday, June 26 at 7 a.m. It also took place on I-95 northbound. A Dodge Dakota pickup was struck by a Silver hatchback that is suspected to have been a Honda Fit or similar 4-door. There were no injuries.

The hatchback left the scene but was later located in Fredericksburg, according to Virginia State Police.
