RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — McDonald’s restaurants in the Greater Richmond area are getting on board the food delivery movement.
Today they teamed up with UberEATS to launch McDelivery at 25 of 70 restaurants in Richmond and the immediate surrounding areas.
“We are excited to bring new levels of convenience and personalization to our customers in Greater Richmond,” said Sue Durlak, a McDonald’s Owner and Operator in the Richmond area. “Our customers have told us they enjoy experiencing McDonald’s in new ways.”
McDelivery is part of a nationwide partnership with UberEATS, and Richmond is one of the first markets to start.
UberEATS determines the delivery area, and the number of restaurants providing McDelivery is expected to grow.
“With UberEATS, you can get the food you want, where you want it, delivered at Uber speed. We’re thrilled to partner with McDonald’s to give fans in the Richmond area easy access to their McDonald’s favorites at the tap of a button,” said Christopher Ager, General Manager for UberEATS in Richmond.
According to McDonald’s, customers can place orders on the UberEATS mobile app or on UberEATS.com. An UberEATS driver will bring their meal directly to them. An UberEATS booking fee applies to each order.
Currently in Richmond, the full menu at participating McDonald’s restaurants will be available for delivery with the exception of soft serve cones.
McDelivery rolled out as a pilot project in Florida earlier this year and is now expanding nationwide.
