RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmonders gathered Sunday to celebrate the culture of Israel.
A group of 10 young adults came to the city Sunday as part of Israeli Friendship Caravan.
The group travels across the country to perform traditional songs and dances.
And this afternoon they gave the performance at the Weinstein Jewish Community Center.
They also had a buffet of Israeli treats and even camel rides for the kids.
8News spoke with Leslie McGuigan who helped organize the event.
“I think, just like any other cultural group, it’s important to be able to express to the rest of Richmond what it is and who we are and I think just a lot of people around here really like to learn about other cultures, so we decided that would be really nice for us to do as well,” McGuigan said.
