Steward Summer League is a good way for high school ballers to pass the time

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The great thing about summer as a high schooler is you don’t have school. The bad thing is trying to figure out how to fill all that free time.

A group of local high school players is stating out of trouble and getting better at Steward School’s summer league. Teams like J.R. Tucker, Douglas Freeman, and Trinity Episcopal competed in the league this year. It’s a much more casual approach than the regular season. Teams are not allowed to run player, and coaches often show up in whatever they were wearing during whatever they were doing earlier in the day.
