Police identify woman killed in hit and run motorcycle crash

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police have identified the woman who died Friday night in a hit and run motorcycle accident on I-95 north, just south of exit 75 in Richmond.

Police said that Carrie A. Friedhoff was killed when the motorcycle she was riding on was bumped by a vehicle coming up the Broad Street ramp onto the highway, causing the bike to go down.

The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were both in the road when a black SUV struck Carrie and the motorcycle. The vehicle did not stop at the scene.

Police said that Carrie died at the scene.

The motorcycle driver, Robin W. Friedhoff was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Both Robin and Carrie were wearing helmets at the time of the incident.

The crash occurred at around 9:20 p.m. Authorities are looking for a black, newer-model SUV that is believed to have been involved in the wreck.

The Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is assisting with the crash which remains under investigation.
