RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond School Board is moving forward with its plans to find a new superintendent.
The school board agreed to have a special meeting on Monday of next week to vote on the superintendent search. Once they pass that vote, they can start to search for the person who will take on the position permanently.
The school board has hosted several meetings over the past month asking parents to take part in the process. The overall feedback was that parents wanted someone who was going to be “bold.”
Dr. Dana Bedden will step down at the end of the school year and Tommy Kranz — the current chief operating officer for RPS — will be taking over as interim school superintendent on July 1.
The special meeting to vote on the process is set for June 26.
