Plans to renovate Overby-Sheppard Elementary move forward

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond School Board is planning to give one of their elementary schools a much-needed upgrade.

The school board is pushing forward with plans to renovate Overby-Sheppard Elementary School. During the renovations, students will temporarily move to Clark Springs Elementary. The move, which also affects teachers and staff, will begin Thursday.

The school board plans to upgrade classrooms with new floors, ceilings, and chalkboards. The money for this renovation was included in the city’s budget.

It is still unclear when the school system plans to break ground on the project.
