2 dogs die in Chesterfield County house fire

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Crews battled a second house fire in Chesterfield County Tuesday morning.

Owners of the house, located on North Rhodes Lane, came home to find smoke inside the house.

Firefighters say three dogs were in crates at the time of the fire. Two of the dogs died from smoke inhalation and the other was taken to the veterinarian.

The cause of the fire remains unclear.
