RPD: Arrest made in relation to Saturday night’s Warwick Road homicide

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police just arrested a man in relation to Saturday night’s Warwick Road homicide.

Detectives arrested John B. Harvie, 47 and charged him with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Police said additional charges are pending.

Detectives believe Harvie and the victim Katherine A. Wigglesworth, 47, knew each other.

Harvie surrendered to detectives without incident late Sunday night.

Wigglesworth was found dead Saturday night in a parking lot behind a church the 5200 block of Warwick Road in Richmond around 6:20 p.m.

Police said that the woman died of apparent trauma, but that they are still investigating exactly what happened.

A medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
