RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Citizens will gather at the statehouse ahead of the Electoral College vote on Monday. This event is part of a nationwide day of action in all 50 states asking Republican electors to abstain from voting and instead send the vote to the U.S. House of Representatives where a Republican-led Congress will request CIA Intelligence briefings in order to make an informed decision for their constituents.
The December 19 coalition issued an open call to allied organizations of all political stripes to join them in all 50 states for a day of protest at statehouses across the country today for the Electoral College proceedings, which are open to the public.
The Richmond protest will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1000 Bank Street.
