(WRIC) — The Most anticipated movie of the year is finally hitting theaters this weekend.
You might call it Star Wars 3-and-a-half: “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” roars into theaters this weekend, taking fans of that galaxy far, far away back in time to the events just before we met Luke Skywalker in “Episode 4 A New Hope.”
This is the story of the ragtag crew of mercenaries who stole the plans for the death star from the empire so that the rebels could attack the moon-sized space station. The film stars Felicity Jones, Forrest Whittaker and Diego Luna. It also features scenes with Darth Vader. It’s rated PG-13.
“Collateral Beauty” stars Will Smith as an ad exec who retreats from his life after a personal tragedy. He starts writing letters to love, time and death in hopes of understanding a world that now seems foreign to him. His letters will change the lives of people he’s never met. The drama co-stars Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley and Naomie Harris. It’s rated PG-13.
On DVD and streaming this weekend you can check out Matt Damon in the latest chapter of the Bourne series. “Jason Bourne” finds the assassin, who suffers from amnesia, finally remembering who he is and what happened to him in the past. He goes after his handler who left him out to dry. The film is the weakest of the recent Bourne films. It has decent action but the storyline doesn’t offer us much that we haven’t already seen. It’s worth a look on home video.
