James River Parade of Lights rings in the holiday season

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The 24th annual James River Parade of Lights is happening today, despite the major fire that occurred yesterday at the Richmond Yacht Basin also on the James River.

Each year, boaters decorate their boats and converge on the James River for a parade that marks the beginning of the holiday season. Boaters must register their boats prior to participating in the parade. Presented by the James River Advisory Council, this free event also features other entertainment at viewing sites.
