RPD searching for suspects who tried to break into Carver home

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police are searching for two people who tried to break into a home in Carver.

Two people were involved, one armed and wearing a ski mask. The incident took place Wednesday afternoon around 3 p.m.

Police are now saying that the people involved could still be a threat to the community this morning.

As a result, they have increased patrols in the area where the incident took place on Catherine Street near the Siegel Center.

Police say the resident had previously spoken with a 15 to 16-year-old male before turning them away and closing their door. Shortly thereafter, the person returned with the person wearing the ski mask who also carried a gun.

One of the two people tried to force their way into the home, but the resident fought back and was able to keep them out.

Police said that the two people were last seen in a silver vehicle heading north on Leigh Street.

Police are asking members of the community to be vigilant and that anyone with any information give them a call.
