City of Richmond releases final Pulse plan

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – The City of Richmond  released its final plan for the Pulse Rapid Transit System on Wednesday.

Pulse will operate special buses from Rockett’s Landing to Willow Lawn with 14-stations close to housing, employment, and entertainment zones.

Re-zoning will be required to make some of the route pedestrian and bike friendly.

The fast bus system will cut the travel time from the city to Henrico County in half. Contractors for the project hope to have the GRTC Pulse transit system running by October 2017. GRTC expects 3,500 people to take the bus ride daily. The construction phase is expected to last a year, weather permitting, and businesses in the area will stay open during that time.
