RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — 8News revealed this summer that all bids to renovate the 17th Street Farmer’s Market into a pedestrian-only plaza came in too high.
Now we’ve learned that the City is putting the project out for rebids with some adjustments.
In the latest update, no plans for landscaping have been included.
In an effort to reduce costs, the City has decided to put a bid out for trees and plantings separately.
The City is also now considering sponsors to help cover the costs of the splash pad fountain planned for the area. Meanwhile business owners in the area remain frustrated, telling 8news the city last told them construction would begin in November.he new bids
