Hunter’s hair goes on hiatus to raise money, awareness for Sportable

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Hunter Leemon, the Executive Director for Sportable, has been growing out his locks for months, but next week he will chop it all off for a good cause. His hair will be turned into wigs for women battling cancer.

The charitable haircut is open to the public and will take at a restaurant in Richmond. Proceeds will benefit Leemon’s organization, Sportable, which helps those with physical and visual disabilities participate in sports.

hair“This summer I went in to get my haircut and my young ladies at Red Organics said, ‘oh, don’t cut your hair, you’re so close to actually being able to donate your hair for the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Campaign,” Leemon explained.

So, that’s precisely what he plans to do.

The hair cut will take place December 6th at The Answer Brewpub in Richmond. The event will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Ten percent of all proceeds go to Sportable. Hunter hopes to raise $10,000 dollars. Click here if you’d like to donate.
