18-year-old arrested in connection to Caroline County armed robbery

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — An 18-year-old Richmond man is facing a handful of charges in connection to an armed robbery that occurred in Caroline County last week.

D’Angelo McCargo was arrested on Tuesday, November 29 and charged with armed robbery, aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, grand larceny from a person and brandishing a firearm. Investigators believe McCargo is the suspect who shot the victim in the face with a CO2 powered BB gun last Friday.

Investigators also believe McCargo was an occupant of a stolen vehicle that fled from deputies in Caroline County after the incident occurred. Authorities say the vehicle was reported stolen in Chesterfield County and that investigators in Caroline County have worked closely with the Chesterfield Police Department throughout their investigation.

“I am thankful for our citizens that continue to provide valuable information and for the tireless efforts provided in this investigation by our Caroline County Sheriff’s Office personnel. I am grateful to our regional partner law enforcement agencies and to the media who assisted in this investigation. The CCSO remains vigilant in our fight against crime and is truly Community Committed Service Oriented.”

McCargo is being held without bond at Riverside Regional Jail. Investigators report that additional arrests will be made.
