Woman injured after shooting in Richmond’s east end

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police are investigating after a woman was shot in Richmond’s east end Tuesday.

Authorities said at approximately 11:58 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of Nine Mile Road and Fairmount Avenue for the report of a person shot.

At this time, the female victim is believed to have suffered an injury that is not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Officers and detectives are on scene and investigating.
