VSP investigating fatal crash in Louisa County

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police are investigating after one person was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Louisa County Tuesday night.

Authorities say the crash occurred on Fredericks Hall Road near Rising Sun Road at around 6:35 p.m.

A 1998 Oldsmobile was traveling east on Route 618 when it ran off the road to the right, overcorrected left, running off the road and striking a tree.

The sole occupant of the Oldsmobile, Kyle M. Holmes, 25 of Louisa County, Va., died at the scene; he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Speed and alcohol are considered factors in the crash which remains under investigation.
