Dehumidifiers recalled after 450 reported fires

Richmond, Va. (WRIC) — Gree has expanded its recall to cover about 2.5 million dehumidifiers after 450 fires and $19 million in property damage were reported.

The recalled dehumidifiers include Frigidaire and Kenmore brands. They can overheat, smoke and catch fire, which could cause serious fires and burns.

This recall was originally announced in 2013 and has since been expanded.

These humidifiers were sold at common appliance retailers including Home Depot, Lowe’s and Walmart. For the full list of recalled units, click here. If you have one, unplug it immediately and contact Gree for a full refund.
