Police ID suspect wanted for stabbing death of woman at Chesterfield apartment

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Chesterfield County Police have identified a suspect in the domestic-related homicide that occurred back on Nov. 11.

Authorities said just after 9:10 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 11, police responded to the 6500 block of Statute Street for a report of a subject who had been found unresponsive.

Police located Nishae A. Samms, 23, who had sustained a stab wound. Samms was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police.

Police have identified Tevin James McGougan, 23, of the 600 block of Cowardin Avenue, Richmond as the suspect involved in this homicide. Tevin McGougan is currently wanted for Murder.

Police ask anyone who observes Tevin McGougan to not approach him, but to contact local law enforcement immediately.
