RPD: Man found dead near Richmond elementary school

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A man was found dead early this morning less than a  mile from Fairfield Court Elementary School in Richmond’s east end.

Police responded to the scene of a reported shooting in the 4100 block of Fairfield Avenue at about 12:40 a.m.

When they arrived, they found Alton L. Neal of the 2000 block of Cedar Street dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.

At this time, police do not have any suspect information at this time.
