CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WRIC) — A Charlottesville man is among the dozens of Dakota Acess Pipeline Protesters facing criminal trespassing charges today in North Dakota.
Nic McCarthy was one of about a hundred people who gathered outside a mall for a Black Friday demonstration.
Police say they asked the group to leave several times because the mall is private property.
When the people refused to disperse, 33 protesters were taken into custody.
Officers remained at the mall to maintain safety.
Reports from the scene say the activity did not stop holiday shoppers.
