PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police are investigating after a man was stabbed and killed behind a Manassas business Thursday night.
Police said on November 24 at 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the 8000 block of Stream Walk Lane in Manassas to investigate a reported stabbing.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.
First responding officers attempted first aid on the victim who was subsequently transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries, according to police.
Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that the incident possibly stemmed from an altercation between the victim and a known male behind a Manassas business.
The suspect was not immediately located and remains at large, according to police. The victim was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Police said the incident does not appear to be random and the identity of the victim will be released once confirmed and their next-of-kin have been notified.
Police are continuing to investigate.
This is Prince William County’s 21st homicide of 2016.
