Adopt a Furry Friend: Missy

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Meet our furry friend of the week, Missy.

The Richmond SPCA says Missy is a very sweet, well-behaved lady, who is eager to meet her new family. The 10-year-old canine makes friends really easily, and she loves to be around people.

Missy enjoys passing time cuddling with her friends, and taking long leisurely walks outside, the SPCA says.

Missy is a part of the MYM Canine-ality program.

For dogs, the MYM assessment evaluates how they do when left alone, interest in toys, prior knowledge of commands, overall energy and manners.

The survey for adopters asks about prior experience with dogs, other people and animals in the home, desire for a playful or a laid back dog, interest in canine sports, and other criteria. Survey results give a color-coded MYM category (purple, orange or green) that corresponds with the Canine-ality categories assigned to the dogs. Take the adopter survey online here.

Missy is a part of the orange Wallflower Canine-ality category. Wallflower is described as:

“Shy yet charming canine searching for patient owner with relaxed lifestyle. Looking for gentle guidance to help me come out of my shell. Treat me sweet and kind and I’ll blossom. (Internally motivated).”

Missy has been waiting patiently for a permanent home — lets help find her one. Visit Missy at the Richmond SPCA located at 2519 Hermitage Road.
