More than 9,000 troops, retirees and family members enjoy Thanksgiving at Fort Lee

Richmond, Va. (WRIC) — Soldiers, retirees and family members enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner at Fort Lee Thursday.

The four dining facilities on base made 5,800 pounds of turkey and 3,600 pounds of ham. Those at Fort Lee also ate thousands of desserts – 900 pies and 1,200 cakes, to be exact.

That’s A LOT of food, but hey, it takes a lot to feed almost 8,000 people!
