2 suspects wanted for placing skimmer on Colonial Heights ATM

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) — The Colonial Heights Police Department is currently investigating a credit card theft case where a “skimmer” was placed on an ATM machine at The Bank of Southside Virginia located at 764 E. Ellerslie Avenue.

Authorities say on November 12 at around 8:27 a.m., video surveillance shows a female walking up to the ATM from the rear of the bank and placing the device onto the ATM.

She inserts a card and is then seen walking back towards the rear of the bank, according to police. At approximately 6:58 p.m. that same day, a male subject is seen on foot approaching the ATM from the rear of the bank, removes the device and then leaves on foot again towards the rear of the bank.

Police say there were multiple victims of credit card theft as a result of this incident.

The female is believed to be 20-30 years of age, medium build with long hair, light in color. The male is believed to be 20-30 years of age, medium build, and clean-shaven.
