RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods announced Tuesday that it is recalling Ukrop’s Light Chicken Salad because of misbranding, and it may contain Seafood Salad with undeclared allergens: pollock, pacific whiting, crab, lobster, wheat, soy, carmine.
The impacted product is produced at the company’s plant in Richmond, Virginia and is sold through Martin’s Food Markets in Richmond only. There have been no known reports of illness associated with the use of this product.
- The affected products are only those labeled with a sell-by date of 11/25/16; net weight 8 oz.
- The product name, sell-by date, and net weight are found on the lid of the container.
- Products that carry any other names, sell-by dates, or net weights are not impacted by this recall.
“The safety of our customers who eat our products is our priority; therefore, we are voluntarily taking this precautionary measure,” said Robert S. Ukrop, President and CEO of Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods, in a press release.
