CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Fire crews battled a shed fire for hours early Monday morning on Stanmore Road, near Redbridge Road in Chesterfield County.
Fire crews rushed to the scene around 2:30 a.m. and found flames ripping through a shed.
At one point, crews were concerned that the fire could spread — endangering other homes. Luckily, it did not spread and no one was hurt.
The fire is under control, but firefighters are keeping an eye on the smoke.
Fire investigators are on the scene to find out what caused the fire, but the weather is not on their side today.
A combination of the wind and dry leaves increases the danger of fires growing out of control, according to the national weather service.
