Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle on Jefferson Davis Highway

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police have confirmed that a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday night.

The crash occurred around 8:35 p.m. in the 12000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Caroline County near the Spotsylvania line.

A pedestrian was walking in the right southbound travel lane when he was struck by a 2001 GMC Yukon. According to police, the roadway is not lit and the pedestrian was not wearing any reflective clothing.

The name of the victim has not been released. Troopers are currently investigating the crash.
