Police: Person suffers non-life threatening injuries in shooting in Hopewell

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — Hopewell Police say that one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting that took place in the city early Saturday morning.

The incident took place before 2:50 a.m. in the 100 block of Booker Circle when a victim was shot in the upper back.

Police transported the victim to Randolph Medical Center upon finding them suffering from a gunshot wound.

The Hopewell Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this matter.

The department is requesting that any person(s) who witnessed the shooting or may have been traveling in and around the area at the time of this incident contact lead Detective Mark Polumbo of the Hopewell Police Department at (804) 541-2284. Additionally, any person(s) who have information on this or any other crime occurring in the City of Hopewell may contact the Hopewell/Prince George Crime Solvers at 541-2202. You will then be provided an ID number that you will use when checking the status of your tip OR picking up your reward.
