One dead, two teens injured after Danville shooting


DANVILLE (WSLS 10) — Danville City Police are searching for a suspect responsible for a shooting that left one man dead and two others injured in Danville, Virginia.

According to a release, officers responded to a report of shots fired on the 200 block of Kemper Road around 10:20 last night.

There, they found one man, 21-year-old Jacquel Tashan Stamps, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. EMS pronounced him dead on scene.

In addition, police say they found a 14-year-old nearby suffering from a gunshot wound. Police took the teen to the hospital.

The third person, a 17-year-old male, came to the hospital on his own.

Police say a party was being held at a residence on Kemper Road where multiple shots were fired.

This is the 14th reported homicide in Danville this year.
